Underpants Thunderpants!

Author: Peter Bently
Illustrator: Deborah Melmon
Parragon, 2011

Looking at the title, it is easy to see that this text contains humor. Its purpose is to get students to feel comfortable with underwear. It would be best for children in pre-K to second grade. The story begins when Dog leaves his underpants hanging outside on the line. Soon they disappear in a storm and go on adventures. The rhyming text and bright, fun illustrations add to the story. Since all students wear underwear, it is something they can relate to and giggle about together.

  1. I personally LOVE this story. I think it is a great story for children to laugh with their frends and family wth. Although it is not your typical Multicultural story I think it is one where everyone will enjoy!
